MHQ 1st to show off the new 2012 Ford Interceptor to the general public during there police car show. There were over 1000 people in attendance to view the coming out of this police super car.

Marlboro, MA April 30, 2010 — The long awaited concept police super car is no longer a concept thanks to MHQ Emergency Vehicle Supply and Upfitting out of Marlboro, MA.  On April 30th 2010 MHQ unveil the first working prototype of the new 2012 Ford Police Interceptor at it’s annual police car show at there headquarters in Marlboro.

Replacing the tried and true Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor was no easy feat. The Interceptor is has an all-wheel drive, a twin-turbo V-6 and based on the 2010 Ford Taurus. It will also be available with a standard V-6 engine and front-wheel drive. The standard Police Interceptor gets a 263-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 with E85 capability, improving efficiency by 25 percent over the current Crown Vic version. The EcoBoost V-6′s 365-horsepower and 350-pound-feet of torque make the upgraded Interceptor even more imposing in high-speed pursuits.

The interior of the 2012 Police Interceptor has been modified to meet the standards of police work, including ability to withstand a 75-mph rear-end crash, a special side-curtain rollover airbag for front and rear passengers. It will also come with a special roll fold technology to let the side curtain airbags slip between the passenger and window.

MHQ will be one of the few with early insight to upfitting this hi-tech super car. If you would like more information about the 2012 Ford Police Interceptor contact MHQ Emergency Vehicle Equipment.
